1930's. The monarch's insane ambition to prove his descent from an ancient noble family brings a foreign historian to Albania. The foreigner finds himself working with the authorities of an obscure prefecture of the kingdom amongst reprobates and ignoramuses, who make themselves appear ridiculous and detestable by getting caught up in comical situations.
Blerta, captain of the volleyball team, loves Miri, the driver of the cooperative. The nephew of the cooperative chairwoman is also called Miri and he lives in Tirana. Uan Suka, a servile troublemaker, convinces the farther of Blerta to engage his daughter with the nephew of the chairwoman. The confusion solves when the nephew of the chairwoman comes in the cooperative.
World War II. The anti fascist youth attracted broad masses of the people on the football fields turning these sport events into manifestations against the occupiers. Such were the matches between the amateur team "Shprefeja" and the fascist teams. Entering the field with the conviction that they will beat the fascist team at all costs, the Albanian players and its supporters turn the sport field into a battlefield.
Early years after the war. The bourgeoisie is falling, and they are being taxed for their profits during WWII. Abdyl is an accountt who helps the bourgeoisie and fascist collaborators by hiding their gold in his home and manipulating documents.
Year 1943. All the members of an anti-fascist council are arrested by the Nazis during a wedding, along with the husband. They are pressured into signing a document against the council, but they refuse, and instead plan to help the husband escape in case of an execution.
Petrit works as a cleaner in the Ministry of Internal Affairs during the fascist occupation of Albania. There, he learns many secrets and helps the resistance with inside information.
