THIS WONDERFUL CONCERT WAS RECORDED HUNGARY IN 2022 AND CONTINUED A SERIES OF LIVE SHOWS THAT FOLLOWED THE RELEASE OF THE ACCLAIMED COLLABORATION BETWEEN DJABE (ONE OF HUNGARY’S MOST ACCLAIMED JAZZ GROUPS) AND FORMER GENESIS GUITARIST AND ACCLAIMED SOLO ARTIST STEVE HACKETT; ‘LIFE IS A JOURNEY: THE SARDINIA TAPES’, AN ALBUM WHICH WAS THE RESULT OF IMPROVISED SESSIONS THAT TOOK PLACE IN A CHURCH ON THE ISLAND OF SARDINIA. ‘LIVE IN GYOR’ CAPTURES, ON TWO CDS AND A BLU RAY VIDEO, DJABE AND STEVE HACKETT PERFORMING SELECTIONS FROM THAT ALBUM ALONG WITH CLASSIC GENESIS MATERIAL SUCH AS ‘HAIRLESS HEART’, ‘FIRTH OF FIFTH’, ‘IN THAT QUIET EARTH’ AND ‘LOS ENDOS’, PLUS STEVE HACKETT COMPOSITION’S ‘THE STEPPES’, ‘ACE OF WANDS’ AND ‘LAST TRAIN TO ISTANBUL’ AND DJABE COMPOSITIONS. ‘LIVE IN GYOR’ IS A WONDERFUL CONCERT EXPERIENCE AND THE REGION FREE BLU RAY IN THIS SET ALSO INCLUDES A HOST OF BONUS THE BONUS FEATURES.

This concert film was recorded in Budapest, at the Pecsa Music Hall. It was one of the live surround shows of the Down And Up album tour. The album and the tour, especially the live 5.1 audio experience meant a milestone in the band’s history. At the show even the lights turned blue. This show is a really unbeatable performance in the jazz / world scene.

The 104 minute show was recorded at Budapest's Petofi Hall on 26th January 2002 and mixed in 5.1 surround format in Steve Hackett's own MAP studio. The setlist offers a variety of Steve's favourite acoustic material including selections from 'Bay of Kings', 'Momentum', 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' and 'Sketches of Satie' together with unique acoustic arrangements of some of his band material and even one or two new and unreleased pieces. Hackett was accompanied by brother John (flute) and Roger King (keyboards)
