Mike, a recently divorced social worker in his early fifties, finds himself living in a grimy apartment across town with only his dog for company. Burying himself in work, his solitude is interrupted when an unknown woman starts calling to ask if he has seen Abigail? As the calls persist, he becomes increasingly concerned that perhaps he is not alone in this apartment after all.
Sophie and Paul (an aspiring musician) can't pay their London rent and turn to friends and family for support. Over the course of a summer, things go from bad to worse: The couple lose everything and find themselves lost in the underbelly of life on the streets. Though frustrated, their good humour and positivity land them odd jobs and a temporary shelter.
