John Fogerty is an American musician, best known as the lead singer, lead guitarist, and principle songwriter of the band Creedence Clearwater Revival, which was officially formed in 1967, though the band members had played together under different names since 1959.
Following CCRs dissolution in 1972, Fogerty went on to a successful solo career, releasing several solo albums and touring, playing both solo and CCR hits.
Fogerty also occasionally appeared in small roles - usually as himself - in movies and TV shows.
Creedence Clearwater Revival was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993.
