In 80s Albania, the head of a village is very near retirement. He has many accomplishments but feels somewhat spiritually "bureaucratized" so wants his successor to be similar to him in character and principles. But in the assembly gathering another proposal is put forth, foiling the village head's plans entirely.
First days after the liberation... Agron and Nora, two young partisans are charged with important tasks in a coastal town. They are soon getting married but Nora suffers from glaucoma. The doctor who cures her, Epaminonda, does not help her to overcome the illness because Nora is the representative of the people s power.
