Hollywood actress of the Thirties and Forties who played Pamela Armitage opposite John Wayne in I Cover the War (1937) and enjoyed starring roles in a series of Westerns with the likes of William “Hopalong Cassidy” Boyd.
Born in Melbourne, Australia, she emigrated to America, where she studied at Pasadena College.
Then moved to London to study at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts.
Starred in The Women (1938) on Broadway before heading to Hollywood’s Paramount Pictures, where she featured in The Secret of Treasure Island (1938), House of Errors (1942), with comedian Harry Langdon, and with Brenda Joyce in Thumbs Up (1943).
Later had a part-time radio show and appeared on stage and television.

But before they know it, Harry and Buddy become unwittingly involved in plans to steal the professor's newest invention: a machine gun.

The Range Busters head for Pinto Basin where a series of stage robberies have occurred. To try and find the gang's boss, Crash sends out a empty money box. The plan backfires when the boss has the Range Busters identified as the robbers. Thinking it is now safe, the bank sends out a big money shipment. Needing to rob the stage, the boss gets the boys out of jail so they can be blamed. But this is just the chance they need to catch the robbers.

Bob Adams, ace newsreel cameraman, is told by his boss, "Get the picture---we can't screen alibis." He heads for Samari, a desert hot-bed of tribal unrest in Africa, to do just that, which includes getting footage of El Kadar, bandit and rebel leader. He gets his pictures but only after a romance with the Colonel's daughter Pamela, saving his wimpy, hacked-off brother Don from being a dupe of the gun-runners, and run-ins with spies and throat-cutting tribesman. For a finale, he saves the British Army.
