Giannis Dalianidis (Greek: Γιάννης Δαλιανίδης; 31 December 1923 – 16 October 2010) was a Greek film director.
His first film was Mousitsa, released in 1959, which was followed by a series of musicals.
Between 1974 and 1981, he produced the television series Luna Park.
In 2002, he was dubbed a "national film hero" at the International Thessaloniki Film Festival.
Giannis Dalianidis was born in Thessaloniki on 31 December 1923.
He started his career as a dancer under the nickname Giannis Dal.
From 1958, he worked in cinema, initially as a screenwriter and afterwards as a director.
In 1959 he directed his first film, Mousitsa and sometime later Laos kai Kolonaki.
In 1961 he started to cooperate with the Finos Films the most successful Greek film production company.
He directed such films as The Downhill, Liar Wanted, and Gorgones ke Manges, among others.
Dalianidis mainly excelled in musical films.
This genre, in Greece, is today closely related with Dalianidis.
He directed over 70 films and 10 television series.
Stathis, a naughty young man whose father owns a coffee shop at the island’s central square, picks up attractive tourists. His neighbor Rena, who is in love with him, stands in the middle of his love affairs and does her best to win him. Moreover, his sister Kaiti, a cute and tender girl, falls in love with an young guy who met while traveling, and who stays on the island for her sake. After many humorous events, both couples find happiness.

An extremelly honest man, Timoleon Lambrou (Dinos Iliopoulos), who has lost his job many times due to his honesty finds a wallet full of cash and a letter from the USA that belongs to a military General who is the president o a large public organisation and decides to return it. The General's wife though, Lia (Rena Vlahopoulou), covers for her brother (Andreas Douzos) who has embezzled from her husband's organisation and the letter proves the lies and embezzlements. Finally, Lia gets hold of the letter despite the honest man's objections but the General, decides to hire him due to his honesty. There, he discovers the embezzlements and when he tells everything to the General, his wife and her brother try to prove that he is crazy, a crook, a communist and anti-systemic, things that usually make the General furious. The honest man is imprisoned but in the end Lia decides to come forth with the truth.
