In the backlands of Goiás, Brazil, brutish men who cannot deal with their weaknesses are constantly abandoned by the women they love. Sad and bitter, these men turn violently against each other.
Amador is a retired and ostracized gunman. Alone and bitter, he collects newspaper clippings of his old crimes in an album. After several humiliations, he will react with violence to the world’s hostility that surrounds him while also trying to get back to action.
Caio is 40 years old and lives in the Rio de Janeiro's countryside, where he owns a scrap-metal yard. On Christmas' Eve, he goes to the capital to visit his family and friends. Finally he will be able to meet a man he has not seen for a long time: himself.
