Chuck MacLean is a Boston local who grew up in the suburb of Quincy, went to Emerson College in Massachusetts (before transferring to the University of Southern California in Los Angeles for film school) and did stints as a journalist for the Patriot Ledger and the Boston Herald.
He describes experiences from his rough-housing youth with the police and such as contributing to his inspiration for the TV series City on a Hill (2019).
Life for a crew of organized criminals is disrupted when Vincent Damiano's father, the family's boss, is murdered. Vincent's "bastard" brothers, a group of orphaned souls he raised together, have an idea of who killed their father...his partner Rome. In a valiant and calculated attempt to regain the business and enact vengeance on Rome, the Bastards wage an all-out war to get their pound of flesh.
