A battle of black magic, revenge, death and assorted Indonesian weirdness occurs between Arifin, his first wife Tati, his second wife Sandra and playboy Anton, who is after Arifin's wealth (and Sandra). Two different shamans (one good and one evil) become involved in the jacked up love triangle.
Because she violated the doctor’s order to not get pregnant again, Yuwono’s wife finally dies while she is pregnant with her third child. Yuwono then marries an office staff, Ningsih. Harun, another co-worker who also loves Ningsih, tries to destroy Yuwono by tampering with the office’s financial report so that Yuwono is arrested and is investigated. Harun then influences Ningsih, regarding her standing as a stepmother, so that Yuwono’s house is taken over and the stepchildren, Netty and Susy, are treated harshly. The two children run away from home, looking for their father, and are separated for a time. When Yuwono is proven innocent and is released, he does not find his children at home and goes around Jakarta to look for them. He finally finds them again.
Two businessmen, Burhan and Benny, are rivals and Burhan hires Joko, an ex-convict who is trying to reform. Joko is asked to investigate Benny, through Leila, a hostess that Benny usually goes to. But then Joko and Leila fall in love and things do not go as planned. A accident happens and Leila is shot by Joko. Burhan dies in a car accident while Benny runs away out of the country. The reason of enmity between Burhan and Benny is unclear, nor that of Leila’s role, who knows so much about Benny’s secrets.
A rich man (Rendra Karno) comes to the Gelanggang Dagang to woo the pretty sales promotion girl (Baby Huwae). She already has a journalist boyfriend (Bambang Irawan), and when a female journalist/photographer (Rima Melati) comes onto the scene, the love triangle becomes a four-way street. The “humour” comes from the comedy trio of Bing Slamet, Mansyur Syah, and Ateng.
Firman inherits a piece of land and a hut from his late father. He works hard by selling fruits, to fulfil his father’s dream, of ensuring that his little brother, Agus, finishes his university education. Agus falls in love with Isma, a daughter of a middle-class tailor, Mrs. Slamet. Mrs. Slamet is a distant relative of Mrs. Dirham; a rich widow, who wants her son, John, to marry Isma. But Isma falls for Agus and John often disparages Agus, which infuriates Isma more and more. Finally Mrs. Slamet gives in and accepts Agus’ proposal, and even John is willing to pay the marriage expenses.
The residents of a dormitory led by Bu Siti each have their own personal issues. Tari, a dance student, falls in love with a man old enough to be her father. Rahimah, a medical student, is about to be forced into marriage in her village but is rescued by Nasrul. Maria, a flight attendant, gets entangled in a love quadrangle. She is loved by Imansyah, a co-pilot, but Maria is more attracted to Broto, a wealthy merchant. However, Broto himself is more interested in Sita, a dance instructor. Additionally, two teenagers, Ani and Ina, are placed under Bu Siti's care because their parents are preoccupied with politics. All these problems are resolved in a comedic manner.
Armansyah Perkasa Alam, a rising movie and radio star, receives a lot of fan letters that he uses to indulge his playboy behaviour. His friend, Trisno, keeps cautioning him to no avail. Armansyah begins to juggle too many appointments with too many girls. Finally, all eight girls that he is trying to seduce realise his trick and they all leave Armansyah.
