Andris Nelsons is Music Director of the Boston Symphony Orchestra (BSO) and in fall 2015, he was announced as Gewandhauskapellmeister of the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, commencing in the 2017/18 season.
With both appointments, and in leading a pioneering alliance between these two esteemed institutions, Andris Nelsons is firmly underlined as one of the most renowned and innovative conductors on the international scene today.

Vienna Philharmonic’s annual Summer Night Concert takes place in the unique setting of the spectacular Schönbrunn Palace Gardens in Vienna. This year’s concert focuses on popular works from the 19th and 20th centuries that highlight Europe's rich musical heritage. Norwegian opera singer and recitalist Lise Davidsen performs arias from Richard Wagner's Tannhäuser and Giuseppe Verdi's La forza del destino.
