Aiko Mila Beemsterboer is a talented young Dutch actress who played her first role in the feature film LEVE BOERENLIEFDE (2013) when she was just 9 years old.
She landed her first lead role in the feature film VECHTMEISJE (2018) in which she played Bo, a twelve-year old talented but hot-tempered kick boxer.
She is distracted by her fighting parents who are in the middle of a divorce, and needs to learn how to control her emotions and, at the same time, accept the fact that she can’t control everything.
VECHTMEISJE received multiple awards, such as the ‘Young Audience Award’ at the European Film Awards in 2019, ‘ECFA Award’ at the BUFF International Film Festival and the ‘Audience Award’ and ‘Cinekid Film Award’ at Cinekid.
The film was well received by the Dutch press, with many positive notes on Aiko’s powerful performance.

What has the past year brought? And what does the coming year have in store? Will New Year’s Eve go as expected for everyone?
The 1960s, Netherlands. Thomas doesn’t realise it yet, but he has special powers. The nine-year-old sees things others cannot. He lives in a strict, religious family where his father, quick to cite the word of God, often resorts to violence. As a sense of injustice grows within him and a longing for freedom takes hold, Thomas begins writing his Book on Everything. In it, he wishes for his father’s punishment and encounters a host of unusual characters: Jesus Christ, a levitating lady with a piano-loving cat, tropical fish swimming in city canals, a young peg-legged witch living next door, and many others.
Among the 'Oogappels' families, things get pretty stressful this Christmas and it is a feast of recognition. Erik and Chris actually want to skip the holidays for a year. Fabie faces a major disappointment and Carola and Marcel are rocked by a shocking event during Christmas dinner. Tim and Dina's mood also leaves something to be desired, after a Christmas party at Tim's work gets out of hand. The grandparents know exactly what is going on and, as always, make razor-sharp comments: the more we do our best to push away anything complicated or negative, the greater the chances of violent explosions.
The eccentric Miss Ank tries to pick up the pieces at her primary after the loss of their principal. Faced with a shortage of teachers, and increasingly demanding parents, the board hires an interim head to get things in order. Pretty soon e-teaching takes over, with an actual robot replacing the teachers, and CCTV enabling over-involved parents to keep a constant eye on what’s happening. Finding themselves up against this heartless new regime, pupils and teachers decide to join forces and rebel.
Cato is given the opportunity to become a partner in a commercial office where there is a need for change. Cato seems to be the right person to teach the grumpy lawyers a bit of morale.
Kos (13) is going through the most bizarre period in his life. His mother died a few years ago and his dad is having a heart attack.
