Michael Baldwin (born April 4, 1963) is an American actor, producer, and screenwriter.
He is the son of animator Gerard Baldwin, who worked on classic shows such as The Jetsons, Rocky and Bullwinkle, George of the Jungle and many more.
[1] Michael Baldwin began acting in his teens and was also a member of the Teenage Drama Workshop at California State University.
He is best known for his roles as Mike in the Phantasm films (except for Phantasm II).
Baldwin practices Eastern Mysticism, and in the 1980s temporarily left acting to explore his spirituality.
Some of his latest accomplishments are writing, producing, and appearing in Vice Girls, and its sequel.
He has also taught acting classes and workshops in Los Angeles.
As of March 2005, he teaches acting in Austin, Texas.

In the summer of 1982, a group of campers was horribly slaughtered at Camp Arapaho in the sleepy little town of Woodland Hills. The 10 gruesome murders were blamed on Alex Black, a mysterious man believed to have been the son of Satan himself, whom the townspeople had hunted down and lynched nearly 20 years prior. A young woman named Adrienne was able to defeat Alex and put a stop to the killing spree.
When the VirTech Corporation unveils one of the most controversial and sought after virtual reality machines ever to be developed, it takes a Las Vegas show by storm. The machine is able to make any fantasy come to life, and everyone wants to try it out. But the popular machine should have undergone more testing and when several clients suffer ad deadly reaction to their wild virtual experience, the company must race to cover up their responsibility at any cost. Taking off immediately where the last one ended, in this episode Mike travels across dimensions and time fleeing from the Tall Man, at the same time he tries to find the origins of his enemy, and what really happened the night that his brother died. Meanwhile, Reggie battles the spheres and the undead in a quest to find Mike before the Tall Man can complete his transformation.
The Tall Man, that imposing menace from Morningside Mortuary, is back and once again haunting the thoughts of the now-adult Mike and his friend, ex-Ice Cream vendor Reggie. The two continue their hunt for the mysterious figure and in his path of destruction encounter a variety of dangerous situations, friends and enemies.
Mike, after his release from a psychiatric hospital, teams up with his old pal Reggie to hunt down the Tall Man, who is at it again. A mysterious, beautiful girl has also become part of Mike's dreams, and they must find her before the Tall Man does.
A teenage boy and his friends face off against a mysterious grave robber, known only as the Tall Man, who employs a lethal arsenal of unearthly weapons.
